Reviews
Great staff a little bigger than most REIs but not the biggest. TONs of garage sale shoes (Mid-October). Like this review to show support 👍 …
I’ve been going here for several years. I prefer this location to any other in Denver. This store usually carries most of the same things as the flagship store downtown but it’s a lot easier to shop at. It’s not usually nearly as crowded as the flagship store. Sometimes it’s hard to find a staff member for help and the shoe section usually is pretty busy. That’s true of the other locations too.
I bought a gift for my wife here and when I went to the counter the lady tried to get me to buy a membership. I declined. Then she got rude with me. After Christmas my wife wanted to return the item or at least exchange them but the lady was rude to us at the counter. She was trying to return and I offered my assistance. But she snapped at me. This makes two times they were rude. I will never shop here again.
Doubt I will ever use the ski shop ever again. Brought in some brand new boots and and a pair of skis that was a few seasons old. Was charged almost $100 (at the member rate) to have the boots and binding fit/tested and a wax/sharpen to get ready for the season. If the price wasn't bad enough the bindings were not fit properly. I was able to move my entire boot up and down in the binding. Took them to another shop and they were able to fit 13 business cards between the toe of my boot and my binding (industry standard is 1). The overall experience and quality of the tune were well below expectations.
Took my bike in to get it fixed up from sitting in a garage for a few years. Surprisingly it was in okay shape but Mark took the time to properly educate me me on care for the bike and it was even for a fantastic price of free cause of my membership. Highly recommend the guys and gals at this location, very chill and professional. Perfect Colorado vibes.
Have given this location about 10 tries now, and only once has it been a good experience. Stick to ordering online with the annual sales, way better experience this way. This last time I visited(today), no one asked if I needed any help. I came in to purchase a tent and found a display setup with no signs saying you can’t go inside the tent; and some employee came over and yelled at us to get out of the tent and didn’t ask if we needed any help. I was actually interested in purchasing the tent after getting to go inside of it, which I guess was against the rules. I’ll take my business online since there is no point in going to the store these days.
Took my skis to have bindings mounted. Told it would not be ready before the 15th of October and that THEY WOULD CALL ME (2 weeks turnaround, which was fine the season hadn't started yet). Then I called on 20th and they said they've been ready and were waiting for me to pickup. No phone call to me. Whatever, not the end of the world.
When I showed up to pickup my skis, I found out they had thrown away my binding box, spare parts, and instruction manual. All I got was a "woops must've been a mistake sorry about that". Ridiculous that I paid $85 only to have my merchandise disposed of.
Bindings work. They're fine, despite being 1mm off from each other - again, not the end of the world, but they really just trashed the resale value by throwing away my property. Again, ridiculous. Don't recommend this shop.
Convenient location and well-stocked. We made a stop here on our way south for a camping & climbing trip. The staff are friendly and our cashier was good at dad-jokes.
